Our story began in November 2007 when Langford and Heetderk families from Atlanta made a trip to Walt Disney World. It was on this trip that inspiration was born to provide a quality service experience within the local church.
Through the research of the history and services provided by The Walt Disney Company, a question inspired a movement, “Who’s serving those who serve others?.”
Little did these families know that others were beginning to ask the same question.
Several families made their move to Orlando not knowing each other but knowing that God had simply put something on their hearts to start.
Many of them would meet at Mosaic Community Church and eventually work together in launching Mosaic’s first satellite campus, Mosaic at WDW. The purpose was to provide the Cast Members at WDW a Worship Service at a more convenient time of day. In partnership with CRU at WDW this campus would be the first of its kind.
With the hope of creating more churches and ministries, the Langford’s created The Gathering INC to organize and broaden those offerings.
Church Planters drawn by the same vision came to Orlando to start churches and ministries. The Gathering served them as needed while hosting small groups in homes around Orlando. The result was a multiplication of ministries throughout Central Florida serving those employed at theme parks.
We knew that park guests were and continue to be one of the most effective ways to reach the 100,000+ Orlando theme park employees.
It’s why Love on Stage was created in 2015, making it simple for families to create connections for us. People visiting Central Florida for vacation can now help join us in our mission.
People move to Central Florida seeking happiness. They spend time serving others but have no one to serve them. This makes them feel invisible, even in the most magical place on Earth.
We believe that every person deserves to be seen. Today, we’re stronger than ever, helping them find a life with purpose. Join us!
As followers of Jesus, we believe that every person deserves to be seen. Every one of the 100,000+ Orlando theme park employees has been created with a purpose and for a purpose. God loves them. But, many struggle with living far from home, working off-hour shifts, and feel stuck in their lives.
It doesn’t matter if you have a little or a lot, partnering with The Gathering is easy.
We are a community of people who care about those serving others in the theme park industry.
