We can easily forget that God is a Father who loves us. Like any loving father, God wants us to spend time with Him. He is jealous for our love because His love for us is great. God wants you.
It had been a while since I put God first before starting my day. Instead of waking up to pray and spend time with Jesus, I went straight on social media and my thoughts were on what needed to be done for the day. I started prioritizing working out and other things before spending alone time with Him.
It didn’t hit me until God brought it to my attention during my time with Him.
God didn’t fill me with shame but instead opened my heart to see His invitation to be with Him and to experience His love before starting my day. He did it in such a way that was so loving and showed me His longing heart to speak to me. Just like any loving father, God delights to know us and spend time with us.
Psalm 139:2-3 says, “𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒔𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆; 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒓. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏; 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔.”
Not only does God desire to know us, but 𝑯𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑯𝒊𝒎. We must be 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 with tuning in to Jesus because that’s the only way our relationship with Him will grow.
God is inviting each of us to personally know Him.
Our hearts will always feel empty when we are far from Jesus because we were made to have 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑯𝒊𝒎. We will never be satisfied until He becomes our 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. He will continue to pull at our hearts until all that we desire is Him.
God wants our first love because we first belong to Him. He is our creator who knew us before we were in our mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5). His thoughts towards us outnumber all. Psalm 139:17-18 says, “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.”
God’s thoughts towards us outnumber the grains of sand—that’s how much God thinks of us.
As much as my husband loves me, He could never think of me as much as God thinks of me. Can you believe that the God of this universe loves us so much that He never stops thinking about us? When we understand how much He loves us, we will never have to give in to fear because we know we are always being watched by our heavenly Father.
Jesus is inviting us to come and sit at His feet to 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑯𝒊𝒎 intimately. 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒖𝒕 𝑯𝒊𝒎 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝑯𝒊𝒎? There is much that God wants to show you, but most of all He wants to show you that He’s all you ever need. So remember, God wants you.
